Between sprinklings of glitz and glam, there is a palpable duality, a juxtaposition of the unabashedly feminine and the tomboy-ish with a streety-meets-utility undercurrent. This spontaneous, playful approach to dressing and a newfound naturalness offset loose volumes and skintight shapes, layered liberally and with inventiveness. Long strings, culled from dancewear, are a recurring motif, appearing on tailored jackets, tops and dresses, long jersey dresses recall the elegance of Art Déco, while textures veer from matte to glossy to lived-in. The wide-spanning palette veers from pale dusty hues such as baby blue, pale yellow, antique pink, and orchid haze to dashes of brown, olive, and dark gray, plus energizing sparks of lime and pistachio. Metallic bags, chunky heeled sandals, oversize sunglasses, and embroidered caps top the looks off with another dash of distinctive spontaneity.
