The Nike Air Max 1 “Schematic” is part of the “Sketch To Shelf” pack that honors legendary designer Tinker Hatfield and his original designs of the iconic runner. Following in the footsteps of the red and white version, released earlier this summer, the latest interpretation comes in two colors - black and white. Both are evocative of the sketches found in Hatfield’s pad in the Eighties, and the black version especially oozes a wholesome, work-in-progress feel. Defining phrase include “Schematic, Property Of Nike, Not For Resale” on the sockliner, the designer’s signature, and scribblings of technical notes here and there. Hatfield masterminded plenty of game-changing Nikes sneakers, the most outstanding silhouette being the introduction of the visible Air and cushioning in 1987.
