MARINE SERRE: FASHIONABLY SUSTAINABLE

Inside the impressive Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris, the location of Marine Serre’s FW 2023-24 fashion show, a trio of soaring towers constructed from discarded clothing served to reinforce the designer’s message of environmental preservation.
Serre, who has developed a curated aesthetic over the years with upcycled denim, silks, and household linens, continues to battle and raise awareness against climate disaster. Her winter lineup was abundant with hallmark signs and symbols mixed with newness in the form of lively patterned tapestries, jacquards, and brocades crafted into patchwork ensembles with graphic orange lines. Serre also created her signature moiré fabric using recycled fishing lines and nets.
The collection is a cool testament to her commitment to both fashion and the environment.
