SAINT LAURENT AND SHO SHIBUYA UNVEIL “55 SUNRISES” EXHIBIT

In conjunction with Art Basel Miami Beach, Saint Laurent's Anthony Vaccarello commissioned New-York-based Japanese artist Sho Shibuya to exhibit his 55 Sunrises series in a custom-built ethereal gallery space in Miami Beach. Shibuya's 55 Sunrises artwork came to life from a daily meditation on the contrast between the stable morning sky and the increasingly chaotic news that hits us every day. Originally comprising of 53 paintings, Shibuya created two more in exclusive for Saint Laurent, completing the series. Inspired by the house's original logo, they commemorate the 55th anniversary of the opening of the first Rive Gauche RTW boutique in Paris and evoke a window flooded with the soft hues of sunrise.; The collaboration underscores Saint Laurent and Shibuya's commitment to women's civil rights ;and equality over the decades.
