SHEPARD FAIREY'S L.A. SHOW

Frank Shepard Fairey, an American contemporary street artist, graphic designer, activist, illustrator and founder of the skateboard-inspired OBEY Clothing brand, is hosting his first show in his hometown Los Angeles. Named after the 1981 Black Flag album Damaged, the show pulls together over 200 pieces created since 2015 that range from his iconic style screenprints to sculptures and recycled works. With Fairey’s signature hand, the display also highlights his commitment to modern day issues within human rights and the environment. Fairey gained global recognition during the 2008 U.S. presidential election for his Barack Obama "Hope" poster, a stylized portrait in shades of red, white and blue. Considered one of the best known and most influential street artists in the world, his work is exhibited inside a crop of top museums, including The Smithsonian, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the MOMA in New York City, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
