Symmetry and asymmetry blend fluidly in textural nuances inspired by American painter Ellsworth Kelly and his illusive canvases. Indeed, the house’s signature silhouettes - the mule, the glove shoe, the ballet flat – flirt with straight lines and curves, with sharp angles and arches, mirroring Kelly’s graphic linearity. In essence, the familiar is manipulated with elliptical cutouts, dips and slants, a testimony of the brand’s inventive less-is-more mantra. Inspired by modern art and the Bauhaus movement, Neous favors a streamlined aesthetic where details make the difference. Founder and creative director Vanissa Antonious draws from her art history education, redefining restraint and integrity in design and production.
