IN THE SPOTLIGHT: MAISON MIHARA SS 2022

Though the Maison Mihara SS 2022 collection is called “Usual”, the lineup is anything but ordinary, constructed on edgy cuts and unexpected layers. Working with distressed denim, flannels, and cotton, designer Mihara Yasuhiro wasn’t in the mood for reinventing for the sake of reinventing, opting instead for streetwear with a raw edge and vintage feel, finished with quirky elements and patterns that create misshapen looks. Shapes are roomy and slouchy with moth-eaten-looking knits and denim featuring a thread-bare, lived-in feel. The images were shot in a terminal of the newly refurbished Haneda Tokyo airport, in a sort of wishfulness to start traveling again.
