Escapism, adventure and the sea are at the core of the new Moncler Genius collection designed by Jonathan Anderson. Mixing his British roots, the ones of his namesake brand and Moncler’s idiosyncratic values, Anderson imagines a nomadic spirit, an explorer galvanized by the perfect seascape that conjures images of women, immersed in quilting crafts as they await the return of the fishermen, navigating the deep waters that at sunset shimmer with heart-warming reflections. Indeed, a relaxed nautical feel prevails yet Anderson’s inventiveness creates looks that work just as effortlessly on the shore and on the concrete. Moncler's signature down fabric is manipulated beautifully with patchwork effects, while stripes adorn ribbed knits or lightweight outerwear. The eyelets, intricate quilting and contrast stitching, borrowed from the world of sailing, characterize parkas, field jackets, Bermudas and cargo pants, alongside T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts. Once again sustainability is at the core, including Econyl®, a regenerated nylon derived from ocean and land-based waste, and plenty of sustainable cotton. All in a rich palette spanning vivacious color blocks, deep earthy tones or blurry tints typical of Northern Irish sunsets.
