The second collaboration between Maison Margiela and South Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster features genderless designs, blending experimental artisanship with the iconic aesthetics of Maison Margiela. When creating the frames, John Galliano and Gentle Monster explored dualities in individual expression, reflecting Maison Margiela's avant-garde approach and the eyewear brand’s innovative design philosophy. Glossy colors define futuristic, edgy, and minimalist silhouettes inspired by eyewear archetypes transformed through Maison Margiela's unique grammar, rooted in unconscious glamour.
Due to popular demand, white stitching returns on a select few frames while the eyewear category number, ⑧, is subtly embellished on the temples without overpowering the overall design.
