OTW by Vans teams up with Gallery Dept. to reinterpret the iconic Authentic 44 through the creative lens of an art studio.

Josué Thomas, the LA-based brand’s creative director, transforms the sneaker’s blank canvas with multicolored paint splatters, turning each pair into a unique work of art. A slightly aged sole features Thomas’s Art That Kills logo along the side, while Gallery Dept.’s signature black label is stamped on the insole, and a yellow tag accents the canvas upper. The blue foxing stripe completes the design, echoing vintage aesthetics and the brand’s signature distressed style.

“Mass production is new to me, but the idea remains the same: art moves, evolves, and, once worn, becomes part of the wearer’s story,” says Thomas.

The collab is now available in-store and online.
