Comprising an iconic form-fitting sheer dress and a funnel-necked body suit in shades that veer from cream to red to wisteria, each look is completed with the signature Teckel bag in matching hues for a studied tonal coolness.
For the occasion, Maison Alaïa introduces Dialogue, a new series of artistic and cultural projects directed by Pieter Mulier. The project aims to slow down and explore fashion's possibilities by inviting it to engage in a dialogue with other creative forms.
“I have always wanted Alaïa to represent more than just clothes. And this is how Azzedine looked at Alaïa. He was such a visionary, that from the very start, he imagined Alaïa as a whole. As a space where fashion opens up to art and beauty. And this vision remains today. Because I believe that fashion only makes sense if it connects with its time. With the world,” says Pieter Mulier, creative director.
Dialogue 1 takes place at Crazy Horse Paris, the legendary cabaret that fascinates Mulier and for whom it represents a unique art form. The cabaret also holds a special place in Azzedine Alaïa’s personal history as the designer created stage costumes for its dancers in 1979. The range of colors recounts the endless possibilities of a garment, giving it a sense of rhythm, musicality, and movement. Because, above all, Maison Alaïa is a house in motion.
