THE ART OF EMBELLISHED DENIM BY WHO DECIDES WAR

Positioned among the cutting-edge brands on the contemporary design scene, Who Decides War evolves constantly and surprises unfalteringly. Masterminded by Everard Best, AKA Ev Bravado and Téla D’Amore, the SS collection called Vessel was presented on the Intrepid, a WWII aircraft now turned into a museum. Differently from what the location might have suggested, which would have been even more foreboding today given the war in Europe, this collection was about subversive beauty. And hinged on what this label does best: denim and embroidery with a New York vibe. The label’s unique mastery of intricately distressed, embellished, and experimental denim with a DYI feel, will certainly make you stand out from the pack. Comparable to pieces of art, this season they are reinterpreted with references to the Tuskegee Airmen, the first black military aviators in the U.S Air Force, and to Black Civil Rights leaders, whose portraits appeared in embroidered stained-glass panels developed in collaboration with the artist Steven Barter of Barriers.
