HEDI SLIMANE’S PORTRAIT OF A MUSICIAN

For his latest musician portrait series, Celine creative director;Hedi Slimane;has tapped music creative;Leikeli47, captured by the designer himself in moody black and white shots. Throughout, the Los Angeles-based rapper and producer sports a number of cool Celine pieces, veering from sporty to opulent: a tracksuit, a varsity jacket, and a shaggy shearling coat, all accessorized with; printed bandannas and a mix of jewelry by Celine and pieces belonging to the artist, who released her new single “Chitty Bang,” in early January. Describing her experience during a Q&A for Interview magazine, Leikeli47 said that “Working with Hedi was so eye-opening. I couldn’t believe I was even on his radar to begin with, given the megastars that he usually photographs. Knowing that I’m in company with that is still sinking in. We talked about everything from Foxy Brown to the Beach Boys, and the clothes were beautiful.”
