THE NEW BOTTEGA VENETA CAMPAIGN

With his first ad campaign for Bottega Veneta, new creative director Matthieu Blazy further underscored his vision for the house – offering sensible luxury. Permeated with the pragmatic spin that highlighted his first show back in February, Blazy’s new imagery was shot between Milan, Italy in general and Belgium, in settings that veer from urban to neutral to rural. The handful of hero pieces and accessories pulled for the visuals include handsome leather pieces, whether it’s a swooshing fit-and-flare dress or a crisp suit; beefy knits; pleated skirts; frisky feathered lace dresses; and casual button-down shirts. Each look exudes a whispered richness that fully reflects the origins of the house – that of a leather goods company. Which is why expertise overrules flash.
