For its latest venture, Adidas Originals crossed the ocean, returning to Fairfax, Los Angeles, for a second tie-up with new-wave West Coast retailer 424, an iconic, ground-breaking destination for clothing and jewelry.
On the tail of the first collaboration launched last year that focused on stripping down two adidas
footwear icons, the latest effort expands into a full apparel capsule and sneakers, including a special
50th anniversary iteration of the adidas Superstar.
424 founder Guillermo Andrade worked his unmistakable of-the-now streetwear aesthetic and a slick, vintage-inspired take on his all-time favorite sneaker - the adidas Superstar. With meticulously-applied vintage-style effects and a gold foil reference to its name, the revised 424 Superstar is a fitting
celebration of the hallmark shoe.
On the apparel front, the key looks are hinged on two contrasting colorways: a sportier blend of black
and red that recalls the Run DMC look countered by a more formal feeling of grey checks in the form of a peacoat and tailored pants.
