Ingenious in functionality, the adidas Originals and Craig Green partnership unveils two brand-new styles, the CG ZX 2K PHORMAR and CG ZX 2K PHORMAR II, whose pioneering upper was developed from a concept first previewed on Green’s FW 2020 catwalk, and a further testimony of the British designer’s commitment to unique creativity with purpose. “I’ve always been interested in design for function and how this can shape an aesthetic. Working closely with adidas, we were able to create a new way of constructing the upper of a shoe, using a single piece of fabric and a series of cords. These work together to create a structure that’s easily foldable yet also strong,” says Craig Green. Thanks to his vision, the shoes exude a feeling of both simplicity and strength, where each design-driven detail has a function. A celebration of materials in their truest form, the CG ZX 2K PHORMAR and CG ZX 2K PHORMAR II in white, black and royal blue, are constructed using the fewest single pieces possible, structured using cording details that shape the shoe’s distinctive silhouette.
