The;Nike X;Patta collection is inspired by the phrase;"Publicity. Publicity. Wohoooow!", a throwback to;the spontaneous “happenings” of 1960s avant-garde artists including Amsterdam’s Robert Jasper Grootveld, and;defined by bold typography.; ;“Traveling. Visiting each other. Getting to know each other. For us, that is where the collaboration between Nike and Patta started,” explains Patta’s Vincent Van de Waal. The standout lettering splattered on a dark obsidian jacket, is reminiscent of the;signage at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport. The font is;one of many sources mined for the collection, which is a study in interconnected and seemingly disparate references. Technical but casual, the apparel mixes performing elements with the classics.; Patta is a Dutch streetwear and sneaker boutique based in the pulsating heart of Amsterdam, founded by;Edson Sabajo;and;Guillaume Schmidt;in 2004.
